Beginning Jan. 1, 2018, the Oregon Lottery will withhold 8 percent state taxes on all prizes of $1,500 and more.
Q. Why is the Lottery doing this? A. We're complying with a state law that takes effect Jan. 1, 2018.
Q. How will this affect my prize? A. For all prizes of $1,500 and more, the Lottery will pay your prize minus the 8 percent state tax.
Non-Video Lottery prizes over $5,000 will have both 8 percent state and 25 percent federal taxes withheld.
For Video Lottery prizes over $5,000, only the 8 percent state taxes are withheld.
Q. Will the Lottery give me a W2G for my records? A. Of course! You will receive it at the time of prize payment.
All Oregon Lottery prize winners can redeem their winning tickets at the main office in Salem.

All Oregon Lottery prizes less than $50,000 can be claimed at the Wilsonville Payment Center. Prizes of $50,000 and greater can only be redeemed at the main Lottery office in Salem. Lottery games are not available for purchase at the Wilsonville Payment Center. Mail in claims are not processed in Wilsonville, please be sure to mail claims to Salem.
