Winning Oregon Lottery® St. Patrick’s Day RaffleSM Number Announced
Salem, Ore. (March 17, 2009) During a press conference from the Oregon Lottery® office in Salem, Shamus O’Shaughnessy, the St. Patrick’s Day RaffleSM leprechaun, announced the winning number for the game’s $1 million top prize.
The winning number for the one $1 million prize, selected from the 250,000 available St. Patrick’s Day Raffle tickets, is 243114.
“Tis a grand day indeed,” said Shamus. “I’ve enjoyed this lovely state of Oregon, but the time arrived to take me pot “o gold and head back to Ireland…until the next Raffle!”
In addition to the $1 million top prize, the $10 St. Patrick’s Day Raffle ticket offered players the chance to also win 10 prizes of $20,000 and 1,000 prizes of $100.
A complete list of all 1,011 winning Raffle numbers can be found on the Lottery’s Web site at www.oregonlottery.org. Players can also check their Raffle tickets at any Oregon Lottery retail location.
The Lottery began selling the 250,000 St. Patrick’s Day Raffle tickets at 5 AM on January 25, 2009. By 2 PM Thursday, February 5, all 250,000 of the tickets had been purchased. “We are very excited about the success of this new game,” said Oregon Lottery Director Dale Penn. “It was our hope to sell all the tickets prior to St. Patrick’s Day. When ticket sales were hitting over 20,000 a day, it became clear that they would sell out well before St. Patrick’s Day. We are already in the planning stages for our second Raffle game that will be out this fall. We will announce all the details of that game soon.”
Since the Oregon Lottery began selling tickets on April 25, 1985, it has earned over $6 billion for economic development, public education, state parks and watershed enhancements. For more information on the Oregon Lottery visit www.oregonlottery.org
