Thanksgiving RaffleSM Game Begins October 4, 2009!
Another chance to win $1 million!Salem, Ore. (July 13, 2009) The Oregon Lottery®’s newest million-dollar Raffle game, the Thanksgiving RaffleSM, will begin sales at 5 AM on Sunday, October 4, 2009.
Just like its predecessor, the St. Patrick’s Day RaffleSM, the Thanksgiving Raffle game offers a $1 million top prize and with a total of 250,000 tickets available, creates the best odds of any Lottery game of winning $1 million. “After selling all 250,000 tickets for the St. Patrick’s Day Raffle in 12 days, one of the first things people asked was, When’s the next Raffle?” said Lottery Director Dale Penn.
Tickets for the game, which cost $10 per ticket, will be available to buy as long as supplies last. “We felt it was important to keep this Raffle game the same as the first one,” said Lottery Director Penn. “Other state lotteries who have introduced multiple raffle games have been most successful when they stayed with similar formats to those games. It’s our hope that the new Thanksgiving Raffle will challenge that 12-day sell out!”
In addition to the one $1 million top prize, the Thanksgiving RaffleSM game also offers these prizes:
- 10 prizes of $20,000
- 1,000 prizes of $100
The Lottery’s first Raffle game, the St. Patrick’s Day Raffle, went on sale January 25. The last ticket of the 250,000 available was sold on February 5. Winning numbers were announced on March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day. Average daily ticket sales for the St. Patrick’s Day Raffle were 20,833. Chuck Mickes was the $1 million top prize winner of the St. Patrick’s Day Raffle. Mickes, of Camas, Washington, bought his winning Raffle ticket at Devaki’s Deli in Portland.
Since the Oregon Lottery began selling tickets on April 25, 1985, it has earned over $6.4 billion for economic development, public education, state parks and watershed enhancements. For more information on the Oregon Lottery visit www.oregonlottery.org
