Lottery’s New Thanksgiving RaffleSM Goes on Sale Sunday

Chance to win $1 million begins Sunday, October 4!

Salem, Ore. (Sept. 30, 2009) Tickets for the Oregon Lottery®’s newest Raffle game, the Thanksgiving RaffleSM, go on sale at 5 AM on Sunday, October 4. But don’t wait too long to buy one of the 250,000 available tickets. The Lottery’s first Raffle game, the St. Patrick’s Day Raffle, went on sale January 25, 2009 and sold out all 250,000 tickets in just 12 days.

The Thanksgiving Raffle game offers a $1 million top prize and with a total of 250,000 tickets, creates the best odds of any Lottery game of winning $1 million. “Many people were disappointed they weren’t able to buy St. Patrick’s Day Raffle tickets because they sold out so quickly” said Lottery Director Dale Penn. “My advice for the Thanksgiving Raffle is not to wait too long to get a ticket.”

Each Thanksgiving Raffle ticket costs $10 and will be available to buy at Lottery retail locations as long as supplies last.

In addition to the one $1 million top prize, the Thanksgiving RaffleSM game also offers these prizes: The winning Thanksgiving Raffle numbers will be announced on Tuesday, November 24, 2009.

Chuck Mickes was the $1 million top prize winner of the St. Patrick’s Day Raffle. Mickes, of Camas, Washington, bought his winning Raffle ticket at Devaki’s Deli in Portland.

Since the Oregon Lottery began selling tickets on April 25, 1985, it has earned over $6.4 billion for economic development, public education, state parks and watershed enhancements. For more information on the Oregon Lottery visit www.oregonlottery.org
